Directions and Precautions

Always consult with a healthcare professional for the correct application of this product.

To Apply
Prepare the Skin
  • Ensure the skin is clean, dry, and free of oils.

  • Do not apply tape to broken or irritated skin. Instead, cover such areas with a non-stick wound pad or under wrap

Apply the Tape
  • For individuals with sensitive skin, apply Fixation Tape as a protective layer
  • Apply the EAB with moderate stretch, overlapping each layer by about half the width of the tape
  • Keep joints slightly flexed, to avoid restricting movement
  • Apply with caution—ensure it is not too tight to maintain circulation and avoid restricting blood flow
To Remove

EAB can be left on for up to 2 days, however it should be removed immediately after physical activity or sport.

  • Use Bandage scissors or a tape remover for safe removal
  • Pull the tape slowly back over itself, keeping it low and close to the skin
  • Avoid ripping up or pulling at right angles, as this can cause discomfort or skin irritation

Warning: This product contains adhesive, which may cause a reaction in people sensitive to adhesives. To avoid circulation issues, do not apply too tightly. If you experience numbness or tingling remove the bandage immediately and re-apply with reduced tension.

FAQ's
What is the difference between EAB and EAB Lite?

Both EAB and Lite EAB are Elastic Adhesive Bandage - flexible, stretchable tape that adheres to the skin and provides compression and support.

EAB uses a thicker cotton making it more rigid and ideal for structured taping. The higher tensile strength does mean that you'll require scissors to cut.

EAB Lite as the name suggests is a lighter weight material, that tears by hand. It has a "crinkled" texture. This is the most commonly used tape in Rugby, and is used and known as Lifting Tape.

What width tape should I use?

EAB can be purchased in 4 widths - 2.5cm, 5cm, 7.5cm and 10cm. There is no right or wrong size to use; however, the following sizes are most effective when used on these areas

  • 2.5cm - Use on thumbs, fingers and smaller joints
  • 5cm - Ideal for wrists, ankles and knees
  • 7.5cm - Shoulders, Knees and used for Lineout Lifting to secure Lifting Blocks.
  • 10cm - Shoulders, Knees
Can anyone apply EAB?

We advise consulting your healthcare professional before application to ensure proper use. After receiving guidance, EAB can be easily self-applied.

How should EAB be stored?

Store EAB in a dry area below 30 degrees.

Is EAB suitable for everyone?

EAB is generally suitable for most people; however, it should be used with caution by those who have an allergy to adhesives as reactions may occur. It is also contraindicated for those with open wounds, infections, or fragile skin prone to damage, as improper use could lead to irritation. We recommend consulting with a Healthcare practioner prior to using.
