Directions and Precautions

Always consult with a healthcare professional for the correct application of this product.

To Apply
Prepare the Skin
  • Ensure the skin is clean, dry, and free of oils.
  • If necessary, remove hair—either by wet shaving 12 hours prior or using an electric razor just before application.
  • Do not apply tape to broken or irritated skin. Instead, cover such areas with a non-stick wound pad or under wrap
Apply the Tape
  • For individuals with sensitive skin, apply Fixation Tape as a protective layer before Rigid Tape.
  • Use specialized taping methods suited to the joint or injury.
  • Keep joints in their natural "at rest" position while applying the tape.
  • Apply with caution—ensure it is not too tight to maintain circulation and avoid restricting blood flow
To Remove
Rigid Tape should be taken off right after physical activity or sport.
  • Use Bandage scissors or a tape remover are recommended for safe removal.
  • Peel down over the tape gently and evenly.
  • Avoid ripping or pulling at right angles, as this can cause discomfort or skin irritation.

Warning: This product contains natural rubber latex and zinc oxide, which may cause an allergic reaction in some people.

FAQ's
How long can I leave Rigid Tape on for?

For optimal use, we advise removing Rigid Tape within 24 hours. If applied for activity or sport, it should be taken off immediately afterwards.

What width tape should I use?

There is no right or wrong size to use; however, the following sizes are most effective when used on these areas:

  • 12mm - Ideal for hands and fingers
  • 25mm - Wrists
  • 38mm - Suitable for elbows, shoulders and ankles
  • 50mm - Best for shoulders and knees
Can anyone apply Rigid Tape?

We advise consulting your healthcare professional before application to ensure proper use. After receiving guidance, Rigid Tape can be easily self-applied; though areas like the shoulders and wrists might require a helping hand!

How should Rigid Tape be stored?

Rigid Tape should be stored in a cool, dry environment, with temperatures not exceeding 30°C. This prevents activation of the adhesive, ensuring optimal performance when applied.

Is Rigid Tape suitable for everyone?

Rigid Tape is generally suitable for most people; however, it should not be used by those who are allergic to Zinc Oxide Adhesive and Latex. It is also contraindicated for those with open wounds, infections, or fragile skin prone to damage, as improper use could lead to irritation. As it is designed to restrict movement, it may not be suitable for those who require flexibility of their joints. We recommend consulting with a Healthcare practioner prior to using.
